Sofia Strömgård
Communications Officer
Sofia Strömgård is a communications officer with the Economic Law and Policy program. She serves as the communications lead for IISD’s Infrastructure, Procurement, and Sustainable Finance programs.
Sofia has over 7 years of experience working at the intersection of scientific and strategic communications. Prior to joining IISD, Sofia held communications positions at the European Council on Foreign Relations, Nordregio, The Swedish Choir and Music Association, and worked as a journalist for the Finnish broadcasting company Yle. She has expertise in impact monitoring, campaign planning, and content development.
Sofia completed her master’s degree in politics and communications, as well as her bachelor's degree in journalism and communication, at the University of Helsinki. Based in Berlin, Sofia is fluent in Swedish, Finnish, and English and is learning German.
